July 2008 - Credo featured on the cover CD of Classic Rock Magazine |
We're very pleased to say that we've been featured on a 12 track progressive rock cover CD along with stable mates such as Pineapple Thief, Mostly Autumn and Big Big Train among others. There's a writeup about the band and a photo of us from our recent trip to the USA playing at RoSFest. Classic Rock is a national magazine available in newsagents across the UK. |
June 2008 - Credo DVD to be recorded in Poland |
![]() |
We've just been invited to play a gig in Poland for a DVD release later in the year. This is on the same bill as Pendragon, playing at the Skaski Theatre in Katowice on 13th October. It's a tremendous opportunity to provide all of our fans with a first class video along with backstage and behind the scenes footage. We'll also be including a band interview and as much old archive material as we can squeeze in that's not too embarrassing! |

January 2008 - Script for a Jester's Tour |
In April Mike is off on a busman's holiday! He'll be touring with Mick Pointer (Ex-Marillion/Arena) and Nick Barret (Pendragon) among others, showcasing the music from the first Marillion album, Script for a Jester's Tear (!). Dates are being anounced at the moment and the official start date is currently 17th April. Mike will be jetting back (Phil Collins style!) from the last gig straight to Philadelphia for the Credo gig on 4th May. Check out the tour dates at http://www.wiventertainment.de |

September 2007 - Writing and Rehearsals start for the next album |
End of summer and it's time to get down to business so following the usual arguments and bad tempers (!) Credo has now started the writing of the next album. As you'd expect the themes are varied and emotional, but the power of some of the tracks has started to shine through already. Never being the type of band that can sit down and write a track in 5 minutes (well not usually), we agonise over each chord and each melody. - no, honest - we really craft every note, every phase and every sound. Crafted to the Nth degree you might say! Who was it that said all progressive rock is like Frankenstein's Monster - lots of old dead parts stitched together forming a scary lumbering behemoth? Actually, it was us, you read it here first folks. |
20th Jan 2007 - Classic Rock Society Awards and Other Things... |
Well, Credo didn't win anything this year at the CRS awards, but we got a few mentions in the charts, and a couple of mentions in the Jan/Feb magazine! Our very own Tim Birrell is officially the 7th best guitarist, while Mike Varty just squeezes in as 10th best keyboard player. Also at 10th is Credo themselves in the best band section - not bad after an 11 year absence. And, finally, in at number 9, it's Mark Colton as one of the Best Male Vocalists. |
28th December 2006 - Credo In Fireworks Magazine |
![]() |
This is a big interview with Mark C about all things Credo, covering the 11 years taken to release Rhetoric though the actual release of Rhetoric and on to what we're hoping to be doing in 2008 - yes, a trip to USA is in the pipeline... The review is in the lastest Jan/Feb 2007 issue, and as a one-off this issue also has a free F2 cover CD with music from all the bands on the F2 label. From Credo you'll hear the whole of the 2 song epic 'Too Late... To Say Goodbye'. If you haven't heard of Fireworks, its an American magazine (on sale in the UK in Borders) and more details can be found at their website http://www.rathole.com/fireworks. |

26th June 2006 - Quidam gigs postponed |
Unfortunately the double gigs in September with Quidam have been postponed. They were originally due to come over to the UK on the weekend of the Summer's End festival to play at Rotherham, but this gig was arranged before the Summer's End dates were announced, and since the dates clash it has been decided that it is best to postpone until later in the year. We'll keep you posted of any news on this. For Credo, the good news is that we're now playing the Stripes gig on Friday 29th September with Jump instead. See more gigs here. |

7th May 2006 - Double Headliners with Landmarq |
We seem to be getting increasingly busy with gigs this year, and it's all down to our very own Mark Colton who's ability in this area always continues to exceed our expectations! So, we've still got a packed set of gigs coming along continuing with 4 dual headliners with Landmarq. Landmarq have just released a DVD which showcases some of the new songs from their forthcoming album (no name or release date yet) and this is a great chance to hear some of that music. If you don't already know, Mike Varty plays keys in both Credo and Landmarq, so there's a good reason for the double gigs. The first gig is at Stripes bar in Brentford, London, and you can find more details of this gig and the others on our Gigs Page. Hope to see you there. |
A couple of reviews of the recent CRS gig (see some photos here) and a reprint of the in-depth interview with our front man, Mark Colton. Click here.
3rd April 2006 - Loads of new and old photos |
Not only did we have a fantastic gig at the Fleece (Bristol, UK) a few weekends ago but we also got a superb set of photos done by Jill (who co-incidentally we hadn't even seen since our last gig in Rotherham in 1999!!). Thanks very much for those Jill, they're brilliant! So, we've been hard at work sorting these out along with quite a few other photos and we've added 3 new pages of photos in the Gallery section of the site. Click on the Gallery button and then select the section you want to see from the menu on the right. Enjoy... |
30th November 2005 - Rhetoric on the Radio |
| Rhetoric has been featured on a few radio stations around Europe so far and it is being received very well by the critical Press. Today it reached Poland and 3 songs were played on MLWZ - Radio Alfa 102.40 FM Kraków, Too Late..., To Say Goodbye and Seems Like Yesterday. Along with that the album has also been reviewed in Metal Hammer in Poland. You can download the whole show including the 3 songs from here. Many thanks to Artur Chachlowski for including us in his regular prog radio show. |

19th September 2005 - Rhetoric Release |
| 'Rhetoric' is officially released today! It's been quite a number of years in the making, but we think it is definitely worth the wait. Read more about the album here. |

8th September 2005 - First gig for 6 years |
| We played our first gig in years today, and it was a real blast from the past, brilliant fun, slightly nerve racking but good to be back. Here's to many more in the future. Keep up to date with our gigs by bookmarking our gigs page - or if you drop us an email to info@credo.gb.com we'll put you on our e-mailing list! |
We now have a rough release date for the album... 19th September. Spooky this is because it's exactly 11 years after the first album to the day! For us it's going to be a busy time because we haven't finished the artwork yet. Info on the new album is here
Announcing two warm-up gigs, Reading 8th Sept and Brentford 16th Sept. More info on our Gigs page
The new album 'Rhetoric' which has been in the pipeline for longer than we'd care to admit is now FINISHED. We're currently in negotiation with record labels to see who gives us the best deal... Info on the album is here
