Live in Poland

Slaski Teatre,

Katowice,

POLAND, 13 October 2008.

Our First European gig and our First DVD recording all at the same time,... and it took us to the Polish city of Katowice.

Playing live is always stressful, but, like childbirth, the pain and stress is forgotten within the first few minutes of birth.

This is the humbling joy of playing in a live band... the immediacy of a live audience means you get an instant and honest response.

Now add to to this, six professional camera-men from TV Poland, and you get stress levels normally experienced by space-shuttle pilots...

The Teatr Slaski is an old-style theatre, set on three layers with the "Gods" offering an amazing bird's eye view of the stage,.... a sudden attack of vertigo is never far away. .....
We couldn't have asked for a more dramatically ornate setting, it also has a certain faded glory.

CREDO were invited to perform at the show by the promoter Tommy, to whom we offer our heartfelt thanks, both for the opportunity to play and for the really professional organisation which made the event such a success.

Likewise, the headline act PENDRAGON were awesome,...
Our personal thanks to Nick Barrett and Clive Nolan who played an unforgettable set,... they've been firm friends of CREDO for years, and we can't thank them enough.

First band up at 5:00 p.m. were one of CREDO's favourites, FINAL CONFLICT.

Mark has seen them perform a number of times and said that, for this event,... "they played a blinder"....  Trust a Man U. fan to define a rock gig using football terms.. !!

CREDO hit the stage at 19.00 and got off to a great start with a strong audience reaction.

As always, our own MC, Mark Colton, set the agenda, continuously moving back an forth across the stage, investing a furious amount of energy from the start of "THE GAME", until the end of "…TO THE GRAVE" Mark and the boys pumped enough energy into the audience to jump start a Super-Tanker..... and it showed.

The whole set continued at a blistering pace, showing the band at their best and capturing a performance which has been honed to emotional perfection since the release of Rhetoric in 2005.

This show also includes a brand new song, which will only be officially released on CREDO's third album - Due in September next year and a medley off the "Field of Vision" CD from 1995.

The DVD is due for release in the next couple of months, and will include the full show, plus lots of add-ons, Backstage video,... songs that have never been released and a full catalogue of CREDO trivia and previous performances,... a DVD worth the wait, and definitely "not to be missed".

Read reviews of the whole evening here (English) and here (Polish).
